On Saturday, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the NDA government's pledge to create one crore jobs in Bihar, raising doubts about the timing and sincerity of this announcement. Speaking to reporters outside Patna Airport, she questioned why this promise had not been made earlier and why it is being discussed now. Priyanka Gandhi is in Bihar to campaign for Congress candidate Garib Das, who is competing in a four-way contest that includes a friendly rivalry against CPI's Omesh Rai. She is also set to campaign for party candidate Mithilesh Kumar in Beldaur.
NDA's Promises for Employment and Skill Development
Previously, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had promised to provide over one crore government jobs and employment opportunities, conduct a skill census for skill-based jobs, and establish mega skill centers in every district, aiming to transform Bihar into a 'global skill training hub.' The ruling coalition also pledged financial assistance of up to 2 lakh rupees under the 'Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme' to promote women's prosperity and self-reliance.
PM Modi Highlights NDA's Vision for Bihar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the NDA's 'Sankalp Patra' for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, which outlines a vision for making Bihar a developed state over the next five years. He stated that this manifesto reflects the coalition's commitment to a 'self-reliant and developed Bihar.' In a post on X, Modi emphasized that the NDA's manifesto clearly presents their vision for a self-sufficient and developed Bihar, aimed at improving the lives of farmers, youth, and families in the state.
Commitment to Development and Good Governance
He further asserted that the state's double-engine government has left no stone unturned in ensuring comprehensive development in Bihar, resulting in significant changes. Modi expressed a commitment to accelerating this momentum and establishing good governance as the foundation for everyone's prosperity, expressing confidence that the public will fully support these efforts.
